There are so many good things about summer, like going on holiday, swimming, and one pretty much interesting, not having to wear socks. We can hardly wait to swap out our boots and galoshes for strappy sandals and flip-flops, and let our feet to breathe. But, there is one downside – after spending months stuffed inside layers and tromping through snow, our feet aren’t exactly ready for their seasonal debut. The thing is, that they look pretty dry and cracked in every sense of the word. Before slipping on those sandals, they’re going to need a little TLC, and rather to spend money on spa for an expensive pedicure, or on some expensive creams, we’ve found a more frugal solution, and it’s hiding in your medicine cabinet: Listerine.
Yes, you’ve read it right, Listerine! The combination of the benzoic acid and ethanol in the mouthwash make it an ideal foot wash, helping you to slough off the dead, dry skin and killing the bacteria, fungi and germs that cause athlete’s foot. Plus, the tingling feels great and smells even better!
Here is how you should do it, because you can’t just pour the Listerine into a bucket and stick your feet into it.
– 1 cup Listerine (or your favorite antiseptic mouthwash)
– 1 cup white or apple cider vinegar
– 2 cups warm water
How to do it
1. First, mix the ingredients together in a foot tub.
2. Then, soak your feet for an hour, then admire your soft skin!
It’s that simple! Don’t worry if your feet come away from the soak looking a little blue, it’s a temporary effect that will definitely fade away, in no time.
Now it’s your turn to tell us what you think! Will you consider give it a try once it’s time to wear those warm-weather shoes?
