Here are recipes for delicious herbal syrups that even the youngest will love them
Medicinal plants that help cough, which I had already written about, may not be used in the form of tea. Although the warm tea with honey is my favorite combination, the healing properties of plants stored in a bottle or vial, in today’s fast-paced tempo of life, can greatly facilitate and make accessible their use.
Syrup against all types of cough
I prepare this syrup for years, and the children (and adults) are delighted with its fine flavor and gladly drink it. What is excellent about this syrup is that can be used to prevent, at a dose of 1-2 teaspoons per day. At the time of the reign of various viruses, it will act to strengthen the immune system and make the lining of the respiratory system more resistant and there is high probability that the diseases will bypass us.
– 200 ml water
– 1 tablespoon anise
– 1 tablespoon plantain
– 1 tablespoon thyme
– 1 tablespoon Iceland Moss
– 1 tablespoon mallow
– 250 ml honey (maple syrup)
– a little freshly squeezed lemon juice
In 200 ml of cold water cook 1 tablespoon anise, and when it boils, add 1 tablespoon of other plants, and put out the fire. Strain after 15 minutes, and in lukewarm “tea”, add 250 ml of honey (to get the mixture density syrup) and a little freshly squeezed lemon juice. Put the syrup in a glass bottle, and keep in the refrigerator (can last up to three months). Depending on the age and the severity of the inflammation is taken 2-5 teaspoon a day, to slowly dissolve in the mouth.
Syrup of thyme and fennel
We all know the good old syrup of elderberry, but other plants can also be prepared in the same way. For example, thyme and fennel are aromatic refreshing and very therapeutic combination – excellent for all respiratory diseases, which portrays acts as an expectorant and as antitussives. In addition to an antiseptic to all internal organs, is great for ailments of the digestive, nervous and urinary system, helps regulate the menstrual cycle … Only the pregnant women should avoid it because it can facilitate abortion and speed up delivery.
3 kg of sugar (brown unrefined)
4 liters of water
about half kg of fresh or 200 g dried thyme
1 tablespoon fennel
juice of 3-4 lemons
Boil sugar in water, add the fennel, switch off the fire and in the lukewarm add the thyme. Cover and leave for 24 hours. The second day strain, add lemon juice and pack it in glass bottles. This syrup is used for dilution with water at a ratio of 1: 5. Once you give a little effort in preparing the syrup, the bottle will be always waiting for instant preparation of tasty and healthy beverage. And according to this recipe instead of thyme you can use plantain with anise and sage.
